Darlene Olivia McElroy’s paintings contain colorful fragments of past experiences: places we have been, people we have known, and emotions strongly felt. Sometimes, these shards of memory evoke new memories or leave us uncertain, searching for the complete picture. It could be a partial glimpse of a parade in Oaxaca or Bali, a Santa Fe character who bursts with local color, or a multi-colored feather floating before our eyes with patterns, textures, and life stories.

There are moments in life when you feel something deeply, as an artist and you can't quite put a name on it: ["The Name of the Rose..."] There seems to be a common element here: Terrel (T Bang Transforming mundane hotel art), Darlene choosing feathers express deep inner emotions, or Barbara and Michael, back at collaborations, while ascending realms into their individual works.
